Henriques (D. Francisco)

He was appointed the Governor General of Madeira on July 20, 1622, and took office on October 28 of the same year. He was a native of this island and died there while serving as governor on June 27, 1624, and is buried in the church of the College. His death led the diocesan bishop D. Jerónimo. Fernando to temporarily assume the functions of Governor General, a position confirmed by Royal Charter on August 3, 1624.
