Guerra Júnior (Manuel José Júlio)

He was the son of the engineering officer Manuel José Júlio Guerra and was born in Funchal in the year 1845. Although he did not complete the civil engineering course, he dedicated himself to this specialty, carrying out some works that were highly appreciated. He wrote the work Diccionario Topographico para uso dos engenheiros civis e seus auxiliares, of which only the first part was published in 1872. He was a distinguished amateur photographer, making several improvements in this art. For his work, he was awarded a degree in the Order of S. Tiago.
