Gouveia Júnior ( Francisco Gomes de)
( Francisco Gomes de) He was born in the parish of Santo António on April 12, 1864, and was the son of Francisco Gomes de Gouveia and D. Antónia de Jesus de Gouveia. After attending the high school in Funchal, he attended the old school of the post office in Lisbon, where he completed the course. He was a retired postal officer and held various public service commissions, including vice-president of the Municipal Council of Funchal and president of the Administrative Commission of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia. He had a wide collaboration in various newspapers in Funchal and other publications, and was the main editor of the newspaper A Madeira . He passed away on August 11, 1926.
