Gomes Leal

This distinguished poet resided in Funchal for some time when his father was a customs official in this city. The Diario da Madeira of July 7, 1923, published an interesting letter from Gomes Leal, written in Madeira and addressed to Albano Coutinho, dated April 25, 1868, in which he makes reference to various Madeiran matters.
