Ginjeira (Prunus Cerasus)

Tree or shrub of the Rosaceae family, sub-family of Prunoideias, cultivated and naturalized in Madeira. It originates from the East and is easily distinguished from the cherry tree by having glabrous leaves on the lower side. The Madeiran sour cherries are dark red, not very acidic, and juicy.
