Kittiwake (Rissa tridactyla) / Gavina (Rissa tridactyla)

A bird of the Laridae family, originating from the Arctic regions and hibernating in the Madeira archipelago. In the bay of Funchal, it is common to see it in winter, either swaying with the waves or perched on the edge of the coal ships.
