History

Garcez (Dr. António João Rodrigues)

He was a doctor in Funchal when he was elected as a deputy for Madeira to the Constituent Cortes that operated from 1821 to 1822. He did not take his seat in the Cortes, as he died in Lisbon before his credentials were verified. To fill the vacancy, the substitute deputy Dr. João José de Freitas Aragão was called upon.
