Galdo

In the article dedicated to the parish of Boaventura, we have already mentioned Pedro Gomes Galdo, who was one of the first settlers to use this surname among us. He had many sesmaria lands in Boaventura and in S. Jorge. To this Pedro Galdo or one of his descendants is attributed the foundation of the chapel of S. Cristovão, in the parish of Boaventura, a foundation much earlier than the creation of the parish.
