Freitas Vale (Henrique Felix)

He belonged to an old Madeiran family and was born in this city around 1840. He was a provisionist lawyer and receiver of the council of Funchal, and held various public service commissions. He had extensive collaboration in several newspapers and was the chief editor of Lei and Diário do Funchal. He published the pamphlets A Crise Agrícola da Madeira, suas causas e efeitos, 1887, and A Revolta da Madeira e a comissão de inquérito, 1888. He has been residing on the mainland for many years, where he has held various administrative positions. (1921).
