Frederico Carlos

Prince Frederico Carlos Cristiano, who succeeded his father to the throne of Denmark in 1848, as Frederico VII, visited Madeira in 1846, on the Danish frigate Glefioar, staying in this city from May 25 to 30 of that year. He received an affectionate reception from the local authorities, and the prince hosted a gala dinner on board for the main official entities of Funchal.
