Franco de Castro (Alfredo César)

We do not know any circumstances about him, and we only know that in 1865 he published in Lisbon a 144-page volume entitled Julia or Memories of the Island of Madeira. It is a novel dedicated to Vasco Tristão da Câmara, whose plot takes place on this island, where the author spent a few months for health reasons. It contains descriptions of various buildings in Funchal and briefly addresses some points in the history of this archipelago.
