França (Alfredo de)

He belongs to an old family from the parish of Faial, where he was born on December 14, 1883, the son of Alfredo Abel de França. He attended the law school at the University of Coimbra, but did not graduate. While still a student, he published in verse the pamphlets Poema Rubro, A Imagem, and o Pagem. He has contributed to many newspapers and is currently an editor at Século, in Lisbon. He is a senior official at the Ministry of the Colonies. (1921).
