Fraga Gomes (Alfredo de)

He was born in Funchal on April 21, 1873, and is an agronomist in this district and a member of the Agronomic Sciences Society of Lisbon. He wrote an interesting monograph of the parish of Câmara de Lobos, which was published in the Bulletin of the Directorate General of Agriculture, and a booklet entitled A doença da canna d'assucar pelo Conyothyrium melasporum na Ilha da Madeira, Lisbon 1900. He has published numerous articles on agricultural subjects in the newspapers of Funchal, and is known throughout the district as a very zealous, distinguished, and educated official. (1921)
