Frade (Peixe)

Formerly known in Madeira as Blennius palmicornis, a fish now known by the designation of caboz. It inhabits the coast and is common in the rock pools.

The fish known in Portugal by the name frade is the Selache máxima, which occasionally appears in the seas of Madeira. It is a large shark that comes from the cold northern seas and is sometimes found dead, floating on the ocean's surface.
