Forte do Porto da Cruz

It dates back to 1708 and was built on the bay. In 1804, it was dismantled, and the existing garrison was sent to work on clearing the Ribeira de Machico.

In 1713, João de Vasconcelos Uzel was appointed captain of this fort.

Forte de Santo António no Paul do Mar. It was built in 1754. A provision of the War Council, in 1761, orders an increase of one more pipe of wine to the annual salary of 12$ of its creation.
