He graduated in 1837 from the Faculty of Medicine in Montpellier, defending the thesis Etude de l'accouchement premature artificiel, which he printed in a 59-page pamphlet. He rendered outstanding services in France during a cholera epidemic and was therefore honored with a medal of honor. In Madeira, where he practiced clinical medicine for many years, he was the physician of the Funchal Municipal Council party. He died in 1859 or shortly thereafter.
