Felner (Rodrigo José de Lima)

This well-known writer and academic is credited with the publication in 1873 of the memoir True name of the Portuguese João Fernandes Vieira, in which for the first time it is affirmed and proven that the illustrious Madeiran João Fernandes Vieira (see this name) upon leaving this island in 1624, exchanged the name Francisco de Ornelas Moniz for the one he adopted and used until his death. Lima Felner died in Lisbon in November 1877.
