Feiteira (Pteridium aquilinum)

A very common fern in Madeira that also grows in non-calcareous locations on the island of Porto Santo. In the vicinity of Pico Ruivo, it can reach a height of 2 meters.

The feiteira is used as fertilizer and for animal bedding.
