Abreu (Francisco Jorge de)

He was born in Funchal on April 23, 1878, and attended the lyceum and the first three years of the Medical-Surgical School of this city. He collaborated in the former Funchal newspaper Diário Popular, and was the director of Século in Lisbon, and Primeiro de Janeiro in Porto, having been previously one of the editors of A Capital. In addition to many articles scattered throughout the aforementioned newspapers, he translated some novels published in Folhetim, and several plays.

He published separately A Revolução Portuguesa, a 31 de Janeiro (Porto 1891), Lisbon, 1912, of 178 pages; A Revolução Portuguesa, o 5 de Outubro (Lisbon 1910), Lisbon, 1912, of 208 pages, and Boémia Jornalística. He died in Porto on June 7, 1932.
