There are twelve telegraph-postal stations in Madeira, one of first class in Funchal, two of second class in Santa Cruz and Calheta, six of third class in Ribeira Brava, Ponta do Sol, Porto do Moniz, S. Vicente, Sant'Ana, and Machico, and three of fourth class in Câmara de Lobos, Ponta Delgada, and Porto da Cruz. In Ponta do Pargo, there is a telegraph-postal and semaphore station, in Ponta de S. Lourenço a telegraphic and semaphore station, and in Ilhéu a semaphore post.
