Dourada (Coryphaena equisetis)
A fish of the Escombrida family, which usually appears in the month of June and disappears after October. Its flesh is not highly regarded. The name 'dourada' comes from the color presented by the species of the genus Coryphaena. According to Lowe, the name 'dourado fêmea' is applied to Coryphaena equisetis and that of 'dourado macho' to Coryphaena hippuris.
