Madeirans name the natural union of two fruits with this name. Cases of concrescence are not rare in Madeira, and are observed in bananas, pepinelas, tomatoes, potatoes, etc. De Candolle called concrescence natural grafting, and in fact, it exists in it, similarly to what happens in grafting, adherence or welding of organs of identical or analogous structure.
