Diogo (Duque D.)

He inherited the lordship of the Madeira archipelago from his father, Infante D. Fernando, and was the Duke of Vizeu. He was assassinated by his brother-in-law, King D. João II, on August 23, 1481. His death transferred the lordship of the same archipelago to his brother, D. Manuel, who later became the king of Portugal.
