Damasqueiro (Prunus Armeniaca)
Tree originating from China, widely cultivated in Madeira.
Its fruits, which appear in June and July, vary greatly in terms of size and even color, with a variety of apricots called black, whose epicarp has the color of certain plums.
The main varieties of apricots that appear in Madeira are as follows: genuine apricots, French, white, churros, alperches, “pêches“ and maracotões.
