Cuidados (Calendula officinalis)

Tubular-flowered composite originating from Italy and Greece, easy to recognize by its large flower heads with orange ligules, and by its quite curved achenes, subspiny on the back. It is cultivated in gardens and is naturalized in some parts of Madeira. It was formerly used as an excitant, tonic, and emmenagogue medicine.
