Albuquerque (Major Joaquim Mousinho de)

He arrived in Funchal, coming from Mozambique, where he held the position of royal commissioner, on December 7, 1897, and was given a brilliant reception here. There was a dinner in his honor at the Palace of S. Lourenço, music and illumination in the Municipal Garden, and a torchlight march, promoted by the academic class. He departed for Lisbon on December 12.
