Coutinho (D. Manuel Pereira)

He was appointed the general governor of this archipelago on November 22, 1609. After his term, the diocesan bishop D. Fr. Lourenço de Tavora temporarily assumed the functions of general governor. However, Coutinho later became the general governor of Angola.
