Geography

Costas

The mountain range that crosses Madeira from east to west with high eminences and uninterrupted continuity clearly establishes the northern coast, better known as the North Coast, and the southern coast, commonly called the South Coast. Between these two coasts lies the interior region, extremely mountainous and with very rugged terrain, except for the plateau of Paúl da Serra.
