Costa (João Sabino da)
He was born in Funchal on October 14, 1886, and was killed by the police of the capital on February 1, 1908, on suspicion of having contributed to the assassination of King D. Carlos and the Crown Prince D. Luiz Filipe, a crime in which it was later proven that he had not taken any part.
He was a soldier of the 5th Infantry Regiment, and was employed in commerce at the time of his death.
The old Rampa and Calçada do Cidrão are now (1920) named after João Sabino da Costa.
