Brief note on Madeira's altitudinal vegetation zones, referring readers to the Flora article and to Carlos Azevedo de Meneses's Flora do Arquipélago da Madeira.
The article Flora (II-34) gave a brief account of the plant zones or regions found in Madeira, as in all mountainous countries, according to the varying conditions of climate. We wish to draw any interested reader’s attention to pages 216–222 of the Flora do Arquipélago da Madeira by the distinguished botanist Carlos de Azevedo de Meneses, where the subject is treated at greater length.
