Sodium zeolite (mesotype), a hydrated silicate found as needle-like crystals in the bed of the Ribeira dos Socorridos.

Sodium zeolite, or mesotype, has been found in the bed of the Ribeira dos Socorridos (‘stream of the rescued’), where it occurs as needle-like (acicular) crystals. It is a hydrated silicate.
