A Castilian bishop who was in Madeira in 1548, having come from the Canary Islands. He consecrated the church of the monastery of São Francisco, and administered confirmation and conferred holy orders on the island. He sought to become Bishop of Madeira, and to that end ‘went to Lisbon, says Frutuoso, with the purpose of asking the King for that bishopric, citing in support what he had done there; but His Highness ordered that he be very well rewarded for his labours, and his petition was refused, since he was not a native, and there were many in the kingdom who deserved it’.
