Ornelas (Juvenal Honório de)
Madeiran physician, doctor of medicine from the Paris school, who taught at the former Funchal medical school and died in 1873. He wrote a Paris thesis (1834) on treating post-partum haemorrhage.
Doctor of medicine from the Paris school. He was born on this island and died here, at the age of 67, on 20 October 1873. He was a professor at the former medical school of Funchal. Works: Dissertation sur le traitement des pertes de sang qui peuvent suivre l'accouchement, par la compression de l'aorte abdominale exercée sur le ventre, la position convenable du corps et l'usage du seigle ergoté et des fortifiants (thesis); Paris, 1834.
