Lamego lawyer who in 1877 published a pamphlet defending Bishop Manuel Agostinho Barreto's refusal of church burial to a suicide in Funchal.

He was a lawyer in the city of Lamego when, in 1877, he published in Porto a pamphlet entitled A sepultura Eclesiástica e os Suicidas, which deals with the refusal of burial in the Angústias cemetery in Funchal to a man who had committed suicide in this city on 4 March 1877. It is a warm defence of the diocesan prelate Dom Manuel Agostinho Barreto. (See vol. I, pp. 71 and 130.)
