Moray eels of Madeira: Muraena helena, M. anatina and M. augusti, with notes on their habitats.
Fishes of the family Muraenidae. Known in Madeira are Muraena helena (moreia pintada, spotted moray), mottled with yellow; M. anatina (moreia serpente, serpent moray), also with yellow spots; and M. augusti (moreia preta, black moray). The first of these species lives in shallow waters; the second and third near the coast.
