Júlio da Silva Carvalho (street)

This street, originally named João da Mata, came to be called the New Convent (Mosteiro Novo) when a building intended for a small convent was built there, although it was never put to that use. It was also called Rua do Seminário, because the diocesan seminary operated in the house intended for the convent. A few years ago it was given the name Rua Júlio da Silva Carvalho (see that entry). It has since reverted to the name Rua do Seminário.
