Ichthyologist at the British Museum who described several new species of Madeiran fish, among them Melanocetus Jahnsonii, a fish of the great ocean depths, which was the subject of a paper to the Zoological Society of London entitled On a new genus of Pediculate Fish from the sea of Madeira.
