British Museum ornithologist who explored the Selvagens scientifically and published on their birds in 1896.
Ornithologist at the British Museum who carried out a scientific exploration of the Savage Islands (Selvagens). He published a paper entitled On the Birds observed in the Salvage Islands near Madeira in the journal The Ibis for 1896, pp. 41–55, and an account of his voyage to the Selvagens in the journals The Field and The Zoologist. This last work, in which Cecil Bering collaborated, is entitled An Expedition to Salvage Islands.
