Goldschmidt (Julius)

German physician long resident in Funchal, later practising in Paris, who wrote pamphlets on leprosy in Madeira and on the island as a health resort.

This German physician, who lived in Funchal for many years, was living in Paris, where he had a large practice, when war broke out in 1914. Writing on Madeiran subjects, he published the pamphlets Die lepra auf Madeira, 1891, Madère Étudiée comme station d'hiver, 1880, and Madère étudiée comme station d'hiver et d'été, 1884. He died in 1924.
