Dr L. Gain, algologist who collected seaweeds on Madeira and Deserta Grande in August 1911 and also studied Selvagens algae.
He collected some seaweeds on the beaches and sea rocks of Madeira and Deserta Grande (‘great deserted island’) on 11 and 12 August 1911. Works: Algues provenant des campagnes de l'Hirondelle II–1911 à 1912 (Bullet de l'Institut Océanographique, no. 279, January 1914, Monaco). He also studied the seaweeds of the Savage Islands (Selvagens).
