Records the visit to Funchal in May 1846 of Prince Frederick Charles Christian of Denmark, later King Frederick VII.
Prince Frederick Charles Christian, who in 1848 succeeded his father on the throne of Denmark as Frederick VII, visited Madeira in 1846 aboard the Danish frigate Glefioar, staying in this city from 25 to 30 May of that year. He was warmly received by the local authorities, and the prince gave a gala dinner on board for the principal officials of Funchal.
