Madeiran priest and poet born in Arco da Calheta in 1887, author of the verse collection Columbario (1914).
He was born in the parish (freguesia) of Arco da Calheta (‘arc of Calheta’) on 13 June 1887. After completing his studies at the seminary (Seminário) of this diocese, he was ordained priest in the bishopric of Portalegre in November 1912, and has since carried out parish duties in several parishes of this island. Besides various contributions in prose and verse to a number of newspapers, in 1914 he published a volume of poems entitled Columbario, of 89 pp.
