Short entry on Dr António Joaquim Ferreira da Silva, a scientist well regarded abroad, who wrote two pamphlets on Madeira wine and its vinification (1896 and 1911).
This distinguished man of science, whose works are well known and highly regarded abroad, wrote two pamphlets of considerable interest to Madeiran viticulture: Sur les vins de Madère, 1896, and La vinification des vins de Madère et leur composition, 1911. The latter work was published in the Annales des falsifications, pp. 4–59.
