Chá Bravo
Name for two American Sida species (Malvaceae) found in Madeira, whose infusion can serve as an emollient.
This name is given in Madeira to the following two subshrubs, both of the Malvaceae family and native to America: Sida carpinifolia and S. rhombifolia. Both have small serrated leaves and small yellow flowers, but the peduncles, which in the first species are very short and bear 1–4 flowers, are relatively long in the second and bear a single flower. An infusion of chá bravo can be used as an emollient.
