Castanheta baia (Heliastes limbatus)
A small, tasty damselfish caught abundantly in summer off Madeira's south coast with circular nets; also called castanheta branca.
A bony fish of the family Pomacentridae, caught abundantly in summer off the south coast of Madeira. It is taken at shallow depth, which may vary between 7 and 12 braças, preferably with a suitable circular net. Although a small species, it is nonetheless prized for its pleasant flavour. It is also called castanheta branca.
