The stream, also called Ribeira da Vila da Calheta, that flows into the town of Calheta, fed by several small tributaries.

This watercourse, also known as the Ribeira da Vila da Calheta, is fed by the small streams of Cutileiro, Convento, Lombo do Brasil and Fonte de Nossa Senhora, and flows into the sea at the town (vila) of Calheta (‘small cove’).
