Belisqueiro
A wire leader attached between fishing line and hook to stop sharp-toothed fish biting through the line.
A length of wire, single or doubled, which fishermen attach to the end of their lines and to which the hook is fixed. The belisqueiro is used to stop fishing lines from being cut by the sharp teeth of the fish being caught.
